Domain Name Registration
Domain Name Registration is probably the first step that should be taken when planning your web site.  The domain name will give your web site its address on the internet.  It is literally your business or private "domain".  Many of the clever names are taken, but you never know.... one may find that needle in the haystack.  If the name you would like is taken, try a dash ( - ) in the name or you may even go with net.

There are many extensions a person can get now biz, cc, tv, org, but it's best to stick with .com or .net when at all possible as those are the most well known.

Color Schemes
Probably the most important aspect of designing a web site is the colors that you use.

Monitors were not all created equal.  Not every monitor or graphics card can display so many colors.  The most common color problems occur because different monitors offer different color depths.

The Web-safe color palette is a collection of colors that look the same on any monitor that's capable of displaying 256 colors --basically on every computer monitor.    This is an easy way to  insure that the color that you select that looks great on your  monitor, will look great on your customers monitor as well.

We have set up a Web-safe color calculator for your convenience.  You can select different background colors and see what they actually look like in your monitor.  We invite you to use this page to get an idea of what colors might go well with your logos, type, buttons and other features of your website.

Text
Now for the body of the web site... your text.  You will want to choose text which best describes your business or web site you are creating.  If your text is already in a digital format such as Word or Word Perfect, etc.. we can easily paste that in.  If not, we can easily type it in.  Many of our clients email us the text they would like to use for each page and we just copy it from there.

Graphics
We allow 4 pictures or logo type graphics for each page at no extra charge.  Remember the least amount of pictures you have, the less time it will take to open your page.  We like the pages we design to take no more than 15 seconds to load on a 56.6 modem which means it would be less than a second to load on a ISDN and T1.  Please refer to our graphics page for more information on scanning and designing graphics..

Buttons, Navigational Links
We can create click able buttons, images and map images and links to other sites.  Just let us know what you would like.

Forms
Forms
are a great way to gain feedback on your site.  We can set up forms for you at an additional cost.

Testing
Finally, you are ready for the testing end of it.  We do offer a live internet "test" atmosphere so that you can see the developments along the way.  This will enable us to get a feel of exactly how you want your web site laid out.

Uploading to a Server
Western Webpages offers an extremely low monthly hosting fee of only $14.95 per month.  (If you pay up front on 6 month increments, we offer one month free.)  If you already have a host you would like to use, we can work with you in setting it up on their server.

Marketing your Web Site
Once your web site is live on the internet, you will want to get word out about it so that people can see it!  We include the required keywords that you will need to get your site on the search engines.  We also submit your website to 10 of the top search engines.  If you would like your website promoted even further, please visit welink4u.

Maintaining Your Web Site
Whenever you want to update your website, that's what we're here for.  Usually just  quick email with the changes you would like is all it takes.  You can find more about this on our  fees page.
